The Sony dream machine was a far superior product. Reception was very weak.the radio kind of lightweight.
The features for dimming the display is nice as I do not care for the bright display at night. This is an alarm clock that plays music. The nature sounds are decent as background noise. As long as you don't expect this device to be more than an alarm clock that plays music, it is great. I saw some reviews that expected the speakers to sound like B&W.
They emailed that the problems were more widespread tham previously thought. Amazon exchanged very rapidly but would not exchange again. This made the unit pretty much an expensive speaker for my mp3 player.
The first one arrived with a non-functional CD player. Which is a real problem as it is what they call a "Smart Knob". I like the idea of an all in one but.
It is used to set the time, alarms and control volume. I found a Memorex unit with all the same features for $30 dollars less and it works. I exchanged it.
The second had a non-functional volume knob.
Even the sound of the CD player is terrible. The reception and sound are much worse. I cannot recommend this product and have decided to find something new. If all you need is a good alarm clock then you should be able to find one for much less money and much the same features. My wife bought this for me a year ago as a present thinking it would have much better reception and sound than our old panasonic stereo clock radio - WRONG.
He loves the nature sounds and they help to block outside noise. We purchased this for our baby's room. Also love the ability to dim the display. We think it is great. It has been great. We have his lullaby cd in and play it every night while he takes his bottle.
